Methalox Rockets
The UCI Rocket Project Liquids team is one of the few undergraduate teams that launched a methalox rocket in 2023. Methalox is the leading-edge fuel companies like SpaceX and Blue Origin are using to get to Mars. Join this visit to the rocket lab as they prepare to launch their second-generation methalox rocket.

A little ’Houston Control Center’ in Irvine, California! The latest space exploration dream of sending humans to Mars and back pushes the envelope in all aspects of science and engineering. And using resource availalbe on Mars to fuel to rocket back to earth makes a lot of sense. Students at UCI Engineering School are very fortunate to get their hands on the Methalox Rocket project long before landing in the ’real world’. Way to go!🤩
